Scandinavian Goaltending Academy was founded by Svein Atle Hagaseth in 2014, but Svein's passion for goaltending and goaltending development started during his playing career in Norway and the US. Svein Atle Hagaseth is Norwegian, and have drawn influences to his goalie coaching from Sweden, Finland, Germany, US and Canada.
Svein Atle Hagaseth is certified on the highest level possible according to the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation, Level 3 goalie coach, and was the first Norwegian ever to get this certification already back in 2011.
Svein Atle combines his Scandinavian background, with impulses from different coaches and expertise of coaches in North America including NHL, AHL, NWHL, University and many other great goalie coaches. This cross border/international experience has given him a unique perspective which he uses to make sure his students reach their full potential. Svein Atle works with each student to find the "right" way to play given their physical and mental capabilities, goals and style of play. There is not a single way to play for all goalies, but Svein Atle will make sure you find your way to play to help you reach your goals.
Svein Atle has worked as a certified goaltending coach since 2008, but has also had both Head Coach and Assistant Coaching roles both in Norway and Canada at AAA and AA, from Atom to Minor Midget.
Svein Atle moved to Canada in 2014 with his family, including his two goalie sons who currently attend the goalie program at Everest Academy.
